Purchase and refurbish of Cessna 206 for Alas de Socorro flight ministry
The goal is to purchase the airplane, restore it, and return it to service in Honduras as a part of the vital Alas de Socorro aviation ministry to the people of the La Mosquitia region of Honduras.

Financing a part of the cost of the Cessna 206 and repairs
Purchase of Cessna 206 aircraft
Cost: $90,000
The Cessna 206 has not flown in over two years. It needs to be inspected, and a variety of repairs will needed before it can be returned to service. We want to bring it up to Texas where we can start working on it as soon as funds are available.
New Engine
Cost: $70,000
Engine Magneto Overhaul
Cost: $2,000
Spark Plugs & Harness
Cost: $1,500
Prop Overhaul
Cost: $8,000
Engine Mount Upgrade Kit
Cost: $8,000
Aircraft Transponder
Cost: $6,000
This is a special transmitter that sends out signals so air traffic control is able to identify the airplane. The current one is out dated and we need a new style unit enabling us to fly the airplane back to the U.S.
Avionics & Support Equiptment
Cost: $37,500
Assorted avionics equipment to replace out dated equipment in the airplane now. Some shop equipment for aircraft maintenance (Air Compressor, Vacuum Cleaner) and small parts needed for aircraft repair.
JAARS Seat Modifications
Cost: $35,000
JAARS (the aviation dept. of Wycliffe Bible Translators) developed safer aircraft seats after an accident involving one of their aircraft severely injured one of their pilots. JAARS has made this safety modification available to other mission aviation organizations as well.
